From workshop to creation
In our workshop in Casablanca, each bag is carefully designed. Sébastien, co-founder of Craie Studio, loves to explore the Lineapelle trade show in Italy, where he finds the best machines and materials. One of his discoveries, a leather perforating machine, has allowed for bolder and more creative designs.
The perforation technique
Initially, we used classic round perforations. Then, we opted for rectangular perforations, adding a unique touch. Thick calf leathers are perforated directly, while metallic leathers are reinforced with a leather lining before perforation for added durability.
The Bibi bag design
The Bibi bag is made from a single piece of perforated leather, folded and hand-stitched to create a supple and airy bucket bag. A leather cord closes the bag, which is lined with organic cotton (depending on the season). Everything is handmade, without machinery, for a unique result.
